By December 9, 2020 News

It’s been a long year for many. 2020 brought Covid-19, and with it health and financial difficulties. It caused a lot of heartache and difficulties for many families in Ghana, and around the world. Covid-19 not only disrupted our daily lives, but brought disruption to the football calendar – participation at professional football, amateur/semi-pro, and youth football.

In recent time, Brentford FC Kitman Bob Oteng, was extremely generous to donate a sizeable amount of kit to good causes.

And for the festive period, we have begun a campaign to donate as much clothing and equipment again, to good causes in Ghana. In so, with the help of Alex and Uche from The Retro Football Shirts Podcast. I was delighted to have a conversation on nostalgia around football. The connection and bond one has with shirts, memorabilia, and moments. So much that was attached to our childhood, early, and recent memories.

The podcast. Our ‘through the lens episode’ titled ‘Memorabilia’. Episode 31 of our podcast will be availble from 13th December, via our website, soundclound, itunes, spotify and all podcast oulets.

If you’re reading and interested in donating. We’re based in West London, and will be doing collections for any form of football kit and equipment. Shirts, Shorts, Socks, Boots, Trainers, Tracksuits. Anything connected with the beautiful game. The deadline is Xmas Eve. For more information on how to donate i.e. schedule a meeting point/time, please contact us at teamghanaeu@gmail.com or via our contact us page
